Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Otta — including our mobile app, website, WhatsApp integration, and iMessage integration — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What Otta Does

Otta is an AI-powered travel planning assistant. You can message Otta via WhatsApp, iMessage, or our app. You can forward booking confirmation emails to Otta. The service extracts booking details, organizes trip itineraries, and helps you coordinate travel plans with your group.

Otta is a planning tool, not a travel agency. We do not book travel, process payments, or act as an intermediary between you and travel providers. All bookings are made directly between you and the relevant provider.

3. Your Account

You sign in through Google or Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must be at least 13 years old to use Otta.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Otta for any purpose other than personal travel planning.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or interfere with the service.
• Send content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, or violates the rights of others.
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access Otta without our written permission.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.

5. AI-Generated Content

Otta uses artificial intelligence to process your messages, extract booking information, and generate responses. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. You should always verify critical travel details — dates, times, confirmation numbers, pricing — against your original booking confirmations. Otta is not liable for decisions made based on AI-generated output.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you send to Otta (messages, emails, images, documents). By using the service, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content as necessary to provide the service. We do not use your content for advertising or sell it to third parties.

7. Shared Trips

When you share a trip with others via an invite link, those people can view the trip's itinerary and booking details. You are responsible for sharing trip links only with people you intend to give access. Trip owners can remove members at any time.

8. Third-Party Services

Otta integrates with third-party messaging platforms (WhatsApp, iMessage) and uses third-party infrastructure providers. Your use of these platforms is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep Otta available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. During the beta period, features may change without notice.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Otta and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. This includes, without limitation, damages for lost bookings, missed flights, inaccurate extracted data, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any).

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Otta is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, that AI extractions will be accurate, or that the service will meet your specific requirements.

12. Termination

You may stop using Otta at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, unless retention is required by law.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Otta after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
